Quintin Solomon Alvarez

Quintin Solomon Alvarez, beloved only son to Herminio Alvarez Jr and the late Karen Marie White, died on Monday, February 6, 2017 at his home in Keasby, New Jersey.

Quinny, which was his family nickname, was born on a hot summer day in Brooklyn, NY on July 21, 1996. As a child, living in the Bronx, he loved to read and picnic in the Botanical Gardens, go to the Bronx Zoo, and whenever possible go to the beach with his mom. He favored taking road trips upstate to spend time outdoors, laughing and clowning around with his aunts, uncles and cousins. Growing into a young man, he had deep affection for discussing politics, ethics, philosophy, and the bible. He spent time listening to different kinds of music: Jazz, Classical, R&B, Indy Rock, Contemporary Folk, and Hip Hop. He'd also get into long passionate discussions on politics - both foreign and domestic - with his father. They'd talk about Jesus Christ and what it meant to be born again. He had an interesting perspective on the world around him for someone so young and he knew his facts! Always the cool teenager, in high school he picked up a guitar and taught himself to play to calm his mind and spirit. In 2014, Quinny graduated from JFK Memorial High School in Iselin, NJ with some of his best friends. He always said they were like his brothers and sisters. He was happy playing video games, watching movies and living life. He aspired for a simple life filled with love, friends and family. We are truly devastated by his sudden passing. There are no words to describe tremendous impact he had on all our lives or how much we will miss him.

Quinny will always be remembered as a bright meteoric shooting star with extraordinary gifts and talents that awed every one of us. He was a quiet soft spoken young gentle man with a million-dollar smile who we are all so lucky to have blessed with his love. He will live on in all of us.

Quintin is survived by his father Hermino Alvarez Jr., grandmothers Angelina Alvarez and Betty Anne White, his aunts Linda Maldonado, Cheryl Shaw, Mary Beth Favicchio and Carmen Morales, his uncles William H. White III, Jeffrey Brian White and Johnny Morales, many loving cousins and dear friends that will love and cherish him always. He is predeceased by his mother Karen Marie White, Grandfathers Herminio Alvarez Sr and William H. White, his great grandparents Anne (Graf) and William Henry White and his aunt Victoria Ann White.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street in South Amboy, NJ. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 2pm-7pm. Memorial services will take place on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 12pm.
