Todd Michael Pasley

Todd - or has Scott started to grow on you, Fox?

I think you knew that this tribute to you was not going to be a short laundry list of accomplishments and people who you are leaving behind because that would be a misrepresentation of the person that you were, as well as the relationship that we shared. At the same time, you never once bragged about yourself to anyone, so I will gladly do it on your behalf.

Todd Michael Pasley was a graduate of Monmouth University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. From there he went on to receive a Master of Arts in Corporate Public Relations from Rowan University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He was so proud that his final thesis could be found in the school's reference section.

However, your laid back personality naturally set you up for a career in the stimulating world of Title Insurance. It was always such a relief knowing you worked with your best friend of 30+ years, and that you had an important role at Vintage Title Services, LLC as the CFO and IT Manager. I was so impressed with the integral part you played in helping to establish the company, as you made it all look so easy. Everyone at your office knows they not only lost a hard worker, but a dear friend, and that void will never truly be filled.

I could list all of the things that you enjoyed doing, from reading your Deadpool comics to cooking, but that does not capture all that you had to offer. It irks me to continuously refer to myself throughout this piece, but anyone who has known me for a decent amount of time knows that you are the reason why my entire attitude regarding life has changed so drastically in the short amount of time we had together. You gave me a sense of confidence that I never realized I had lost. Out of nowhere, I had standards for how I should be treated by a man, and it was you who set them. I cannot thank you enough for choosing me to be your best friend and wife. Every opportunity given, I let others know what a loving boyfriend, fiancé, and husband you were, and these unfortunate circumstances will never change those feelings.

I'm sure you would be happy to know that my job with the Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters is the reason I can stay focused on taking this time to fully concentrate on how to properly send you off. I was told the most heartbreaking news of my life and they put me on the next plane back to Jersey, no hesitations, and I was not alone either. Before leaving the training center, a man I had never met before offered his condolences and asked if he could give me a hug. As I embraced the stranger, he told me he was a carpenter from Alaska. If it were not for your understanding and encouragement during that career move, I would not have found a home with the carpenters.

Kara and Frank have been taking care of me. Mom, Alycia, Dielto, and Jay have come together to help you leave this world peacefully; we know the least amount of stress is what you would want. My parents are on their way and beyond devastated. A few months ago when my mom told me she thanked you for taking such good care of me last time she was in town, it meant the world to me. Grandma is heartbroken, but is happy that you brought so much happiness into my life, and I quote, "...weren't a bastard." As I finish up, I still have a list of people to contact, but without speaking to any of them, I know aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides are equally shocked and saddened. Your closest friends will be inconsolable, too.

These past two days, it is undeniable that the cats have been looking for their daddy, but deep down they know the truth. Your long time partner Alaska will be taken care of and cuddled as she grieves the biggest loss of her life. Eventually, Dorian Gray will be coaxed out of hiding, and Boots will continue to piss on whatever she sees fit, but know they are grieving. The pictures I have of you with our three babies will be ones I cherish until the end of time.

Services will be held for you at Kurzawa Funeral Homes, located at 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879, on Saturday, October 7th, from 2-4PM and 6-9PM. A deacon from St. Thomas More Church will provide a religious service at 8PM to comfort your mother, sister, brother-in-law, and any other family or friends who find solace in prayer.

The time we spent together were the happiest memories of my adult life thus far. You showed me what unconditional love is and that I should never apologize for being myself. If there is one positive that comes from this, it is that you are guaranteed never to wake up in pain again. You will be with your father catching up, showing him the fishing poles you just refurbished. Please walk into this next chapter with ease, my handsome man. I will love you forever and always, Monkey.
